Warning over council payments shutdown

A KEY council payment system will be out of action afternoon, Rotherham Borough Council has warned.

The systems which the council uses to process payments will be temporarily offline from 1.30pm to 5pm for an upgrade.

This means that no payments will be able to be processed via the counters in Riverside House, at automated kiosks over the phone or on the Internet,

Customers will still be able to make payments via the Paypoint and Post Office network.

The council’s service manager for customer access, Rachel O’Neil, said: “We apologise in advance to anyone who is inconvenienced by this downtime, unfortunately, it cannot be done out of office hours and is unavoidable.

“At 5pm, when the upgrade is competed, internet and Automated Telephone Payments will be available again.

“However, counter staff will be unavailable until normal opening hours the following morning.”
