Runner Ray teams up with Millers to grant fan’s wish

AGE-defying endurance athlete Ray Matthews heaped praise on Rotherham United players who helped him make the dreams of a footy-mad friend come true.

The 74-year-old, who is preparing to tackle 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days ahead of his 75th birthday, teamed up with Millers full-back Frazer Richardson to surprise superfan Donald Harris at the club’s Parkgate training ground.

Fitness fanatic Ray came up with the idea of introducing Donald to his idols after striking up a friendship with him while coaching at Rotherham Leisure Centre.
