Proud boss signs new deal

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans says he is proud to have signed a new three year contract with the club.

Evans penned his new deal after securing back-to-back promotions with last weekend's win over Leyton Orient in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

The victory takes the club back to the second tier of English football for the first time in nine years.

Evans said: "I am very proud to serve Rotherham United and work for chairman Tony Stewart and also our loyal fan base.

"It was an easy decision to sign this contract; the terms were quite literally decided in just two minutes, it was that easy.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as manager of this magnificent club and I am looking forward to many more years at the helm.

"The chairman and I live and breathe this football club every day, we share the same ambition, belief and vision. Everyone from top to bottom is pulling in the same direction and that is what makes it so special.

"Now I have signed this deal nothing will change in terms of my approach. I will still be the first into the club, and the last out - the hard work must continue. The amount of success we've had as a management team has come from a strong work ethic and it gives me great pleasure to confirm that (assistant manager) Paul Raynor will be staying alongside me as well."
