Confidence booster for Treeton

RAIN may have wiped up their chances of a win, but Treeton still put in a confidence-boosting display against early surprise packets Darfield — and shattered any illusions the Barnsley side may have had in the Ben Bailey South Yorkshire League Championship

Darfield were brought down to earth as they were bowled out for just 56 as Steve Foster struck with four wickets in nine overs.

Muhammed Attari supported with 3-21. Treeton were unable to complete the win because of the continuing rain.

Conisbrough have had an excellent start to their championship campaign but for the second week in succession were frustrated after being in a match-winning position.

They tore Houghton Main's attack to pieces at St Peter's Drive, smashing 309-7 with Scott Lowe hitting 98 (12 fours and three sixes) and James Doran smashing an imperious 111, including 15 fours and three sixes. Ian Simon took some punishment but claimed 4-104 for Houghton.
