Have you seen my Monkey?

A DESPERATE pet owner has appealed for eagle-eyed members of the public to help her find her missing parrot.

Claire Duke has been hunting for her beloved African grey, known as Monkey, since he flew the nest last week near the Kimberworth Superbowl.

Now she has made a public appeal in a last-ditch bid to save her feathered friend from falling victim to chilly winter nights.

“It’s too cold for him to survive long unless he finds somewhere warm to sleep,” said Claire.

“Could you ask you readers to be vigilant when out in the garden, washing up looking over the garden or just walking around in general.

“I’d be grateful if people could speak to their children to look out for him, especially at school, as he loves kids.

“Monkey is tame and will now come to people to find food, as he will be tired and hungry.

“He loves apples or other fruit oranges, pears, but apples are his favourite.

“If you are lucky enough to catch him and have no box or cage, put him in a pillowcase till you get him indoors.”

Claire, a firefighter at Handsworth, added: “We have leafleted over 1,200 houses already trying to get the word out.

“We are devastated by his loss and there is a reward for his safe return.”
