Anne Simmons, support services manager at the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We are delighted to be working with Cherry Trees to provide this service for the people around Goldthorpe.

“Alzheimer’s Society in Barnsley is working relentlessly to raise awareness of dementia, help create dementia friendly communities and support those affected by dementia.”

The aim of the cafe is to give people affected by dementia that chance to catch up with friends, meet others in a similar situation and get support and advice.

Anne added: “Anyone who has been affected by or is interested in dementia is very welcome to attend the cafe.”
