'I'm so proud to be here' Labour's Champion tells Commons

ROTHERHAM’S new MP has spoken of her pride at making her maiden speech in the House of Commons.

Sarah Champion, who was elected to replace Denis MacShane last month, spoke to the House about unemployment and the troubles of working families in her constituency.

After making her Parliamentary debut, the former Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice chief executive said: “It was such an honour to be able to speak on behalf and Rotherham and get some of the good things about our town on public record.

“I am so grateful for all the people who voted for me.
