Trial date for burn attack case

A MAN arrested in connection with an incident that left a 51-year-old woman with extensive burn injuries has been remanded in custody following a court appearance.

Anthony Tindle (46) of Primrose Avenue, Darfield, was charged with wounding and appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court earlier today (25).

He was charged after police were called to a property on Primrose Avenue on Monday, September 23 and discovered the female burns victim.

The 51-year-old was taken to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where she remains in a serious condition.

Tindle was remanded in custody and his case was sent for trial at Sheffield Crown Court at 10am on October 9.
