Kia sees Sorento sales soar

SOARING sales figures have boosted Kia’s hopes for its seven-seat Sorento as the Korean firm sells its ten millionth SUV.

Three months after it arrived in UK showrooms, 1,280 Sorentos have already been sold, with the £41,500 KX-4 range-topper accounting for 40 per cent of sales in the first month.

That is 280 up on the firm’s own projected sales and brought global SUV sales into eight figures this month.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO at Kia Motors UK said that the success of the Sorento had resulted in a surge in demand from dealers. He said: “The recent success of the all-new Sorento has seen dealer demand surpass our expectations, which is a nice problem to have but it means waiting times for KX-4 Sorento customers is longer than originally expected.”

A full review of the new Sorento will features in next Friday’s edition of the Rotherham Advertiser.
