Search launched for panto star

THE hunt is on for a promising young actor to join in a spectacular Christmas show.

Peter Pan is coming to Doncaster Racecourse this Christmas and producers are searching for South Yorkshire talent to take on the role of John Darling.

Producers David Lee and Stadium Entertainments Events Ltd are launching open auditions to find a talented young male from the South Yorkshire region to take on what is one of the lead roles in the timeless J. M. Barrie fairytale, which wings its way to the Town Moor track this festive season.

The “Search for John Darling” open auditions will take place on Sunday, August 31, at The Diamond Live Lounge in Doncaster.

“We have always had a great response from the very talented array of artists in the region over the 15 years we presented pantomimes at the Civic Theatre,” said director David Lee.

“I am looking forward to seeing who comes through the door on August 31.  “Hopefully we'll find a budding new star.

“It’s a great opportunity.

“John of course will fly to Neverland along with Peter and his brother Michael and sister Wendy.”

The role of Michael Darling has already been cast.
