Tenants group meets in Dinnington

A NEW tenants group will hold its first open meeting tonight.

Rotherham Association of Private Tenants is to hold a series of meetings at Dinnington Resource Centre.

The first will take place between 6pm and 8pm tomorrow and is open to all.

The new association aims to provide a voice for private tenants linking in with tenants elsewhere in the country and the national Generation Rent campaign.

A speaker has been invited to talk to the meeting about private tenants rights in Rotherham.

Steve Ruffle, manager of Rotherham Federation of Communities (RotherFed), which supports the new group, said: “Your house is your home.

“The number of private tenants is steadily increasing in the borough and their voices are rarely heard locally.”

The association’s website can be found at rotherhamprivatetenants.org.uk.
