Police seek witnesses to handbag snatch

Police are appealing for information after a woman’s handbag was snatched from her as she walked along Edlington Lane on November 21.

An 18-year-old woman was walking along the road at about 6pm when she was approached by a teenager.

He grabbed the woman’s bag and snapped the handle and ran off with it towards Staveley Street.

The offender was described as white, around 17-years-old, around six feet tall, of slim build and wearing a white hooded top.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the theft or has any information about who is responsible.Call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 862 of 21 November 2014.
