No fresh injury doubts ahead of QPR clash

ROTHERHAM United head into Saturday’s home clash with QPR with no new injury problems according to manager Neil Redfearn.

They welcome the Londoners to the AESSEAL New York Stadium on the back of Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over promotion chasing Brighton.

And it could be a similar side that takes to the field come 3pm on Saturday, as none of the current injuries have recovered in time to be considered.

Striker Leon Best has undergone surgery on his groin injury and is out for the foreseeable future, while on-loan defender Farrend Rawson is expected to return from parent club Derby County – where he has been receiving treatment on a hamstring injury – on Monday.

Skipper Lee Frecklington has responded well to rehabilitation work and could be in the squad for the Cardiff City game on January 23.

Versatile defender Stephen Kelly has had an injection for his medial ligament injury, but Redfearn is confident the injury to the former Republic of Ireland international isn’t as bad as first feared.

Danny Ward – who picked up a knock in the win over Brighton – is available for selection and could continue his promising partnership with Matt Derbyshire up front.
