Thai ace at Maltby

Maltby Thai Boxing Club invited former five-times World, European and British Muay Thai and kickboxing champion Ronnie Green to their meeting at the Edward Dunn Memorial Hall.

He gave a two-hour teaching session with local Thai boxers while fighters also came from from Manchester, Huddersfield and Paul Oxtoby's club in Thurcroft.

Club instructor and former European champion himself Phil Glover has been close friends with Ronnie for over 30 years.

He said: “Ronnie is known the world over and fought the best of the best when there was only one organisation to fight for, not several like today.

“If you mention the name Ronnie Green in Thai boxing and kickboxing circles everyone knows who you are talking about and he still travels the world giving seminars because of his amazing skills.”
