Worrall wins it for Millers

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans made a winning return to his old club Crawley Town this afternoon.

A late goal from substitute David Worrall, his first for the club since joining from Bury in the summer, clinched a 2-1 win at the Broadfield Stadium and the Millers’ first three-pointer since their return to League One.

Crewe  took the lead after 14 minutes when Mat Sadler’s free-kick sneaked across a crowded penalty area and in at the far post

Rotherham should have had more to show from a stream of terrific deliveries from Ben Pringle in the first half but finally made one stick on 36 minutes. From his corner, Kari Arnason nodded back across goal and Kieran Agard steered a header past goalkeeper Paul Jones.

Michael O’Connor had a close-range drive cleared off the line and Pringle and Lee Frecklington went close before Worrall seized on a clearance to lash in the decider 13 minutes from time.

Alex Revell had a late effort ruled out for offside as the Millers finished on the front foot to round off a deserved victory.
