Concern over Manvers travellers’ camp

Staff reported intimidation and thefts on Tuesday and Wednesday at the site off Brookfields Way, driving customers away.

Several refused to attend on Thursday morning, leading businesses to close their doors.

Traveller Joseph Connors (34) said the group was on its way to Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria.

A group of travellers had earlier camped at Parkgate Retail World on Monday night, leaving on Tuesday morning.
