Magna wedding fair still going ahead

THE organisers of a major wedding fair have moved to quash reports that their venue is out of action.

The Yorkshire Wedding Sale at Magna will go ahead on January 26 as planned despite the science centre having suffered storm damage before Christmas.

The Advertiser reported last week that the visitor attraction side of Magna was still closed after high winds six weeks ago battered the roof.

We have been asked to point out that some events, including the Yorkshire Wedding Sale are still taking place.

    A spokesman for the event said: “We are holding our event on Sunday, January 26 and this is still very much going ahead.

    “We have spoken with a number of our contacts at the venue who have confirmed this to be the case and that it will not be affected by the roof problems experienced due to the bad weather.”

    Roofers are expected to start working on repairing the science centre’s damaged roof next week.
