Rawmarsh full of rubbish and weeds

Sir - In response to P Frith’s letter on the August 3 I would like to wholeheartedly agree with the comments in his letter. Last week I emailed the council on the same subject, what has happened to Rawmarsh, everywhere you look there is rubbish and weeds?

The roads are atrocious, you cannot drive straight down a street, you are always dodging pot holes for fear of damaging your car. The rubbish that is all over the streets is depressing, and the weeds.

I live opposite a school wall so I look onto this wall every day, the weeds are now over 5ft tall! It is not just in our street but all over, the rubbish is not just our street but all over, the pot holes not just our street but all over....What are the council doing?

They empty black bins once a fortnight, empty green bins once a fortnight, but half of us don’t even need a green bin. I haven’t much of a garden and it would take me a whole year to fill a green bin so they must save time on the few green bins they do empty.

I see them empty public litter bins occasionally but that’s it, full stop, end of story. Where are all the street cleaners and the men that used to clear the weeds? Get them back onto the jobs that matter to us the people of Rawmarsh and let us see that we matter to them.

M. Wrather, Main Street, Rawmarsh.
