New appeal for railway station robbery attempt info

POLICE have renewed their appeal for information about an attempted robbery at Rotherham railway station.

A woman was walking past the ticket officer when she was approached by two men on the morning of September 26.

British Transport Police has released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

Investigating officer PC Emma Williamson said: “Two men attempted to grab a rucksack from the woman, who held onto her bag. The men then ran off towards the town centre without the bag.

“If anyone recognises this man, we urge them to come forward as we believe he has vital information about the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or via text on 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B9 of October 30.
