Helping Rotherham's elderly to stay safe

ROTHERHAM is set to host an event which is designed to help the town’s older residents feel, and stay, safe.

The event, which will take place on Tuesday October 1, will be packed with information and activities on the key things which Rotherham’s older people say matter to then, namely safety, independence, loneliness, health and involvement.

Organisations including South Yorkshire Police, Fire and Rescue and Rotherham Council, will be on hand to talk about and advise on a range of topics, including assistive technology, benefits advice, trading standards, gentle exercise and IT tasters.

The free event runs from 10am to 2pm at myplace Rotherham on St Ann;s Road.
