KFC wins battle for Canklow drive-thru

PLANS for a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Canklow have been passed on appeal.

The restaurant and drive-thru had been thrown out by Rotherham Borough Council last summer.

But planning inspector Jacqueline North decided residents’ living conditions would not be affected by the 70-seater diner.

She said: “The use of acoustic fencing and the distance between the car park and the front of the dwellings on Canklow Road would ensure that noise would not result in harmful conditions for nearby residents.”
