Millers thrashed by Swindon

ROTHERHAM United could have few complaints as they slumped to defeat to Swindon Town at a rain-lashed New York Stadium.

The slick-passing visitors weathered an early storm to take charge and run out 4-0 winners.

Steve Evans’ men should have capitalised upon a storming start that saw Alex Revell hook over from close range and Pablo Mills’ header touched onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

But once Alex Pritchard whipped a free-kick past Scott Shearer from 25 yards to open the scoring after 33 minutes, Swindon grew in confidence.

While that was a quality strike, there was a huge slice of good fortune about their second goal in first-half injury time. Massimo Luongo advanced into the penalty area and his shot took a wicked deflection off Lee Frecklington and looped over the back-pedalling Shearer.

With the Millers struggling to string anything together, Swindon added to their lead on 65 minutes when danger man Pritchard crossed for Nicky Ajose to tap in the third.

Substitute Dany N’Guessan tucked away their fourth in injury time.
