A CHARITY has been given the perfect winter warmer — a grant of £20,500 to help people save energy and keep their homes cosy.

Rotherham and District Citizens Advice Bureau has been given the money by  the Warm Homes Healthy People scheme to provide help and advice on key energy related issues.

Advisers will be available to help with issues such as, comparing energy tariffs, switching energy suppliers and other energy saving measures.

CAB chief executive Annette Cassam said: “This money allows us to give people in our community timely help with their energy related problems.

“We know that many people are having difficulty paying their energy bills. We also know that there are measures that people can take to help them better manage their energy use to stay warm and healthy.

“We want to get the message out that we're here to help.

“It’s vital that people keep warm during the winter months. So if anyone feels they need help to stay warm this winter please contact the bureau for our advice.

People in the Rotherham area who feel they need help to better manage their energy use are urged to call Adviceline on 08444 111 444 (Landline) or 0300 3300 650 (Mobile) to make an appointment with one of the advisers working under the project.
