Line dance class steps out to new HQ
THE founder of a line dance class was invited to its last session at a centre which is set to close.
Beryl Smith was the special guest at the group’s final get-together at the Willows Community Centre, in Mexborough, which Doncaster Council is closing.
Beryl, along with Jean Owen, started the line dance class in 1993 and ran it until they retired in 2012.
The class was then continued by Marlene Gascoyne and Sandra Cassidy who have started a new class at St John’s Methodist Church Hall, Swinton on Fridays from 7pm to 9.30pm.
