Codling's praise for Titans

TITANS coach Alex Codling was delighted with the way his side  gave high-flying Newcastle Falcons a real fright before going down 34-22 at Clifton Lane at the weekend.

Titans crashed to 28-0 down before beginning a terrific fightback which took them to withing six points of the leaders in the second half.

Two late penalties killed off the game but Codling was full of praise for his side.

He said: "We went 28-0 down but at the end of the first half we started the see glimpses of us having a real go at them and we scored two tries.

“Then, in the first 30 minutes of the second half we had complete control and the boys were absolutely outstanding.

“I can’t speak highly enough of them as a group, they always give me 100 per cent and they never leave anything out there on the field. At 28-0 down against the team that is going into the Premiership, most teams would have folded, but we didn’t.."
