Millers test boss's patience

ROTHERHAM United chief Andy Scott says time is running out for certain members of his team to prove they have a future at the club.

Scott accused some players of not carrying out his instructions as they lost 2-1 to League Two promotion rivals Swindon Town at Don Valley Stadium on Saturday.

Two first-half goals in two minutes from Robins winger Matt Ritchie left the Millers with too much to do and despite a second-half reply from Alex Revell, they were unable to turn the match around.

Scott said: "My patience is wearing very thin at the moment with some players and there is only so much talking and work in training you can do. It's up to them to go out on a matchday and do it. If they can't do it in front of 4,000 people at Don Valley and have the mental toughness, desire and heart and bravery to go and do the right thing, what chance have you in a new 12,000 seater stadium? They won't be playing in it and they'll miss a great opportunity.

"I'm not asking them to do anything they can't do. I'm asking them to do what they're good at."

Despite the defeat, Rotherham remain four points off the play-off frame going into Saturday's visit of Port Vale.
