Swallowness heating firm boss keeps her cool for charity

Lisa Pogson, who is resources director at Airmaster in Swallownest, completed a second Pink Ribbon ten-mile challenge walk in aid of breast cancer research, with fellow members of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business group.

The chamber vice-president raised £510 with the walk around Bakewell.

She said: “This year’s walk around Bakewell had many more up and down hills than last year at Chatsworth, but tackling the challenging terrain in rain was better than last year's stifling heat.

“And it’s nowhere near as challenging as a cancer diagnosis.

“We all agreed it was a very inspirational event and even though the weather was miserable and I developed blisters, it didn’t dampen our spirits.

“Many of us involved in the Barnsley and Rotherham Women in Business group have friends and family who have and have beaten breast cancer, so we were really proud to support such a worthwhile cause this year.”
