Resident taken to hospital in Rotherham arson drama
SEVEN residents were led to safety by firefighters after an arson attack on flats in Mexborough.
The blaze was started in a bin storage area next to the two storey building on Hirst Gate at 9.30pm on Monday.
Fire crews from Dearne and Edlington spent 90 minutes at the scene, putting out the flames and clearing smoke from the building.
One resident was taken to hospital as a precaution. A fire service spokesman confirmed the incident was started deliberately.
