Sprotbrough headteacher denies sexual offences against young girls

A SPROTBROUGH headteacher has denied two counts of sexual touching involving two 11-year-old girls.

John McEnaney (60), of Park Drive, pleaded not guilty in front of Doncaster magistrates on Friday (10) to two separate alleged incidents.

McEnaney, who is headteacher of Woodlands Primary School in Doncaster, was granted conditional bail and will return to Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on March 24 for trial.

A spokesman for Doncaster Council said: “We are aware of police action and have taken the necessary safeguarding steps.

“He is currently not in school.”
