Time to Remember

CALLING all Advertiser readers — your town needs you! We are joining forces with the Friends of Clifton Park to launch Time to Remember, a campaign to raise £30,000 for a new World War Two memorial in our town. Now, we need you, our readers and advertisers

The group behind the project has already raised £12,000 but they are hoping to drum up support for the remaining funds which will pay for a granite tribute in Clifton Park memorial garden alongside the World War One curtain wall.

There is currently no collective memorial in the town for those who died between 1939 and 1945 apart from a Book of Remembrance at Rotherham Minster, where a page is turned every Monday.

To remember the 1,216 men and women, the Friends of Clifton Park (FCP), along with Terry Knight of the Fellowship of the Services, have been working tirelessly to raise funds for the project.
