Plastic confusion

Following our government’s kow-towing to Brussels we were issued with a regiment of coloured bins each for a different material but nothing for plastic, so I used to take all my plastic to the local recycle centre.

Last time I went a young lad was waiting by the skips and he informed me that they were only accepting two types of plastic, bottles or hard plastic (not bottles or wrapping)

So I asked what do we do with the plastic wrappings, packing etc? Put it in the household waste, which goes straight into landfill.

I thought the idea was to reduce landfill and cut down on global warming or am I missing the point?
