Time for action against inconsiderate road users
They may be right about me but I still should like to know if my ‘rantings’ have any accord with any other road users.
There are some people who feel that any rule should be adhered to in such a way as to be an advantage to them. In using this philosophy they seem to forget that all rules are made so as those following them should take the view that all others would be taking a similar view of the rule.

The ex-Man United defender Gary Neville in an after match review on television said: “If you are in possession of the ball in the opponent’s penalty area and an opponent makes contact with you, you go down!” My interpretation of his comment was to conclude that irrespective of if a foul was or was not committed by the opponents, he would dive to the floor in an attempt to make the referee award his side a penalty, thus trying to gain an advantage by using deceit.
In many ways people use the roads in a similar fashion by actions which are not in accordance with the rules.
My son and his two sons love cycling but tell me many times of the difficulties they have on the roads by inconsiderate other road users. I am not a champion for cyclists but my son and grandsons have a point.
For example: I was driving my car along Worrygoose Lane towards Worrygoose roundabout. As I approached the roundabout junction I slowed and signalled to go fourth right along East Bawtry Road. I stopped at the junction because I could see a small lorry approaching on the East Bawtry Road to the junction immediately on my right. On reaching the junction the lorry turned left down Worrygoose Lane without signalling. When the road was clear I proceeded round the junction leaving on the

across the pedestrian pavement and the whole of the way across the designated cyclist’s lane. This would appear to me to be a disadvantage to both cyclists and pedestrians alike and is one example out of many I have experienced of drivers not signalling at road junctions or parking their vehicles in restricted areas.
It seems that nothing is ever done to rectify these inconsiderate road users. Do you think it time that there was?
