Lifewise doubles its audience in first year

ROTHERHAM’S unique Lifewise safety ‘film set’ hosted more than 45,000 visitors in its first year.

The lifesize mock-up of a small town moved to Hellaby last September from Magna and the number of visitors more than doubled as a result.

The Lifewise Centre is used by \!qpolice, fire and other agencies to deliver public safety lessons to different groups in the community.

Lifewise’s flagship programme, Crucial Crew, delivers life skills, fire, first aid and road safety tips to Year 6 children while Charity In2Change delivers targeted interventions to young people on subjects like the consequences of crime.

The centre’s Get Lifewise initiative gives safety information to senior citizens.

Project officer Andy Foster said:  “The new centre’s larger size means it will now become home to members of the police and fire services’ community safety teams, allowing them to work in partnership under one roof for the first time.”

Lifewise is available to hire for meetings and events. To find out more call Andy on 01709 832453 or email [email protected].
