Curfew for Conisbrough kestrel snatcher

A MAN who stole three-week-old kestrels from a nest at Conisbrough Castle has been given a community order by magistrates.

Jason Frost (27) of Cedar Avenue, Mexborough, initially denied taking the birds but changed his plea to guilty of the offence which took place in June.

Frost was placed under supervision for a year and was also given an electronic tag curfew to be at his home for six weeks from 7pm to 7am.

He also admitted an offence of criminal damage when he broke a window to get to the nest, and was ordered to pay £50 compensation and a victim surcharge of £60.
