Snow-busting machine ready to help keep Rotherham running

ROTHERHAM Council has geared up to beat the worst of the weather this winter.

The council has taken delivery of a MultiHog mini snow plough to help keep the borough’s roads clear.

The road maintenance vehicle can be fitted with a snow plough and gritter attachment.

Other preparations include a force of 20 volunteer snow wardens, who will be on stand-by to clear footpaths using Enviro-Thaw pellets developed by a Rotherham firm, 4,800 tonnes of rock salt and a fleet of 12 gritting vehicles.
