JUSTIN WILSON: Parents jet to States to be at son's bedside

THE parents of racer Justin Wilson are rushing from the UK to America to be at the stricken driver's bedside following his horror crash yesterday.

The 37-year-old is fighting for life after he was hit on the head by a piece of flying debris following a crash in front of him at Pennsylvania's Pocono Raceway.

He appeared to immediately lose consciousness as his car veered to the inside of the circuit and medics were immediately at the scene.

Justin was then airlifted to Lehigh Valley Health Network Cedar Crest Hospital in nearby Allentown with serious head injuries. He is in a coma.

It is understood that his parents, Keith and Lynn, immediately left their Woodall home last night and jetted to the States to be with Justin.

Justin's wife Julia - the couple have two young children -  was transported to Pennsylvania from their home in Colorado by IndyCar, while his younger brother, Stefan, who spent four seasons was loaned driver Tony Stewart’s plane to make the trip from Indianapolis.

Team owner Michael Andretti said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Justin right now,"
