Road works force Rotherham bus route diversion

Road works by gas operators on Bents Road, Kimberworth Park, have forced bus operators First into changes to avoid the stretch which remains open but has been made narrower by the repair operation.

A notice issued on the Travel South Yorkshire web-site says that the service remains as normal to the Toll Bar but then turns left along Upper Wortley Road, before turning right onto Oaks Lane and right along Kimberworth Park Road to the top of St Johns Green.

The route resumes as normal from that point to Beckett Crescent then diverts via Oaks Lane and Upper Wortley Road to pick up normal route at Toll Bar.

Passengers which usually catch the bus between Kimberworth Park Road and Meadowhall Road are being asked to get on at Kimberworth Park Road but stay on the bus as it travels through Kimberworth and Wingfield or walk onto Oaks Lane and board before the bus diverts down Upper Wortley Road.
