Wales head praises outstanding results

WALES High School pupils propelled their school to the best set of English GCSE grades ever achieved — results head teacher Pepe Di’Iasio called “outstanding”.

He said: “That this has been achieved in what is being described by the government as a ‘turbulent’ year is truly remarkable.”

“The school is proud that every single one of their students left with at least one GCSE grade for only the third time in the school’s history.”

He added: “At all levels we are proud of the journeys our students have been on. They have made fantastic progress when compared to the level at which they entered the school.

Students and staff have all worked tremendously hard and they should be congratulated on their success.”

Wales High School student David Tune got eight A* and five A grades and classmate Genevieve Justice scored seven at A* and five at A.
