Opening this week at Rotherham Borough Council’s new Riverside House building, the group will allow like-minded writers to swap skills for turning ideas into works of art.

Julie Hird, the council’s manager for Integrated Cultural Services, said: “Hopefully the new group will enable us to showcase local talent and encourage new writers to come along and get involved.

“We hope to be able to offer inspiration, guidance and advice that will help new writers find their niche — no matter what level they are at.”

The first meeting of Riverside Writers will take place in the Heritage and Art Space at 2pm on September 14.

For more information or to book a place in the group, telephone Riverside House on 01709 283 606.
