THE SKY is the limit for star students as a college makes the most of its new airborne offering.

Rotherham College announced in June the launch of a BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Aviation Operations from next month, with 32 places on offer.

The course includes “real-world air experience” flying from aerodromes, with just a few places left.

Operators Quiet Tiger Aviation are now offering enrichment activities through an airborne navigation project for 12 learners as a reward to learners for good attendance, academic progress records, and “displaying positive behaviours both inside and outside of the classroom”.

Tracey Mace-Akroyd, principal of the RNN Group, which runs the college, said: “This is an exciting and innovative reward for our high performing learners and we are delighted to be partnering with Quiet Tiger Aviation with this additional flight and airborne navigation activity.

“We want to reward application by our learners with something different and unique.”
