Oakwood High School’s new fence to beat trespassers

PROPOSALS for new fencing around Oakwood High School have been approved by Rotherham Council.

Inspire Trust, which runs the academy, said the 2.4-metre paladin panels were required because of trespassers entering the site at Moorgate and causing damage to property and risking the wellbeing of students.

The trust said the new fencing would replace the current low-level version which offers “little protection.”

Rotherham Council’s planning department has approved the proposals for the replacement panels at the school on Moorgate Road.
