Oakwood Academy seeks permission for new fencing to address safeguarding issues

OAKWOOD Academy has requested permission for new fencing - saying the school has a safeguarding issue with trespassers on site.

Inspire Trust, which runs the Moorgate Road secondary, has filed an application to erect 2.4-metre paladin panels.

The planning papers sent to Rotherham Council say: “The high school currently suffers from a number of safeguarding issues with trespassers entering the site, causing damage to property and risking the wellbeing of students.”

The new fencing would replace low level versions which offer “little protection,” the plans add.
