David McNaught, head teacher of Crags Community School, in Maltby, said the closure was a “precautionary measure”.
Parents called for answers after no reason for the closure was published by the school.

“I apologise for any inconvenience today’s closure may have caused for pupils, parents and carers but the children’s safety is always the priority.
“A final assessment will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) and therefore school will be closed. The two-year-old provision will also remain closed while the main school is closed. “We will be able to update parents and carers once the assessment is completed about timescales to reopen the school.”
A Rotherham Borough Council spokeswoman said it was working with the school to get it open “as soon as possible after the final assessment.”
