Why I want your vote

Sir, Due to the state of the economy and the way our wages have been driven down to barely enough to live on and unfortunately also due to rising prices, I cannot afford to leaflet Maltby in the upcoming election.

Last election I did a leaflet campaign, balloons, sashes and rosettes for my polling agents and came last.

After the election I asked one gentleman who he voted for. His reply was the BNP.

I've come to the decision not to take food out of my childrens mouths trying to convince people like this to vote for me. so here is what I would fight for if elected.

End the free movement of European labour, the British want their jobs back.

Free school meals for all children, bring equality to the classroom and end the stigma attached to free meals, a recent report stated that scurvy and other diet related diseases was found in low paid working families children, this is a national disgrace.

Ahow the UK Rotherham cares. Maltby lost 88 social houses to clear land off Braithwell Road, Maltby. In return, we got 10 new social houses, driving rents through the roof.

I will support the building of 70 social houses in Maltby to replace the ones taken.

Labour claim in their leaflet to support frontline services for the old and young . . . here is their record.

Meals-on-wheels gone, laundry service gone, sanitary collection gone, youth clubs gone. £3 million town hall revamp and £140,000 for town hall wallpaper tells you everythin you need to know about New Labour.

The tories "more for less" attitude is a disgrace and they are back in bed with the bankers with more of the same to look forward too.

I am independent. I don't need a label sticking to me. I'm free to represent your views on Maltby's issues and not slavishly follow the party line and failed policies.

Michael J. Conlon, nominated candidate for Maltby, School Walk, Maltby.
