Show you care about low-paid renters

Let's look at New Labour's record regarding housing in Rotherham. In thirteen years New Labour didn't build a single council house in Rotherham to stop rents and house prices going through the roof.

Will Mr Healey tell your readers how much Rotherham Borough Council  is paying private landlords for ex-council housing in the buy-to-let sector through housing benefits?

And will he look to introduce a housing MOT, so if a private landlord applies for housing benefit for a tenant he/she must supply a valid gas safe certificate and a electrical safety certificate in order to be entitled to housing benefit,?

Talking from experience, the buy to let sector is rife with houses unsafe and unfit to live in, yet the landlord can claim over £100  per week for an ex -ouncil house through housing benefits from the tax payer with no responsibility attached.

will MP Healey take a serious look at the buy-to-let sector,squash the notion that taxpayers owe them a living and lower their entitlement to housing benefits asap.
