Rawmarsh School: prune top-heavy management

Sir--With ref to the teachers at Rawmarsh Community School. I have recently been over to Rawmarsh, where I grew up and enjoyed a robust but solid childhood.

I spent a day on the picket line and was surprised at the calm and decency these teachers showed.

What a shame that these hard working people have to go through this trial just because somebody got it wrong.

Haven’t they got the guts to admit they made a mistake and stop putting these people through hell?

The headmaster comments about falling roles . . . before it was about overspending. Which is it? It seems to change every day.

Surely the council have short and long term forecasts or have these been overlooked/ misused?

Never mind about job losses for the workers what about the top heavy management, governors and council, shouldn’t these be pruned/ looked into?

I suppose it’s OK though, when all this blows over the council will get back to having their snouts in the trough, the management will bow out on a big fat retirement package and the head will toddle off to some job for the council.

Meanwhile the kids and backbone of Rawmarsh will rue the day when these fools took on the purse strings.
