Put benefit claimants to work
Sir, Re the goverment's decision to make long term unemployment claimants do some kind of work for their money.
Taxpayers have been saying this for years. When there is snow on the ground, claimants should be made to clear pathways around old people's bungalows so the pensioners are not condemned to their homes. Also they could clear churchyard areas up,
Some claimants have never had a job and don't want a job. They just are happy to bleed the system dry.
Perhaps bring conscription back. Other countries still have this system.This would teach them discipline, make them respect society and then contribute to their country.
