Only hope for town centre shopping is change of council

Sir Quarter of Rotherham's Shops Empty. Tim O'Connell, who is Business, Retail and Investment manager at Rotherham Council has said "What we need to do is to bring more people in to spend more money.....drum up interest in the town......it's not a lot to change."

Obviously, the well paid Mr O'Connell is unaware that Rotherham's problems are deep -seated and reflect 40 years of decline under a useless Labour Council.

A hopeless sequence of failed investment decisions backed by unqualified councillors and out-of-town planners has seen shopping and parking facilities decline, leading to the demise of attractive traders.

Naturally, people have opted for nearby alternatives. The only hope the town has is a change of Council...but that's as likely as a thriving Arts Hub!
