MP Kevin Barron owes us an apology

Sir— So now it seems that no new schools for Maltby, (see Advertiser, July 9) despite the fact that our local MP and his daughter’s election campaign centered around the fact that these schools were going to be built.

Do they feel they cheated the people of Maltby andconned people into voting for them on the pretence that new schools were to be built, when MP Kevin Barron knew full well that these schools wouldn’t be built because of the mismanagement of our economy by New Labour, letting companies like Balfour Beatie and Jarvis rip off the taxpayer by over-tendering for new schools they didn’t want so the company with the lowest price was left, which looked like the best deal when, in reality the taxpayer was being ripped off.

If that money could have been better managed, maybe these schools would have been built.

MP Kevin Barron and Amy Rushworth owe us, the people of Maltby, an apology .
