LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Liz Truss is bang on the money
I NEVER thought I would say this but Liz Truss is bang on when it comes to saving money in the public sector (she has since backtracked on this — editor).
Longer holidays, less stress, more pay and better conditions than anyone who works in the private sector, some of their jobs make a beach holiday look stressful.
We regularly see the ridiculous wages local authorities pay advertised in this very paper, yet look at the state of the place.
Most improved council? Don’t make us laugh.

Most of them were — are? — still supposedly working form home long after the rest of us returned. A bit of heat and they’re off again. Christmas? Extra holidays and force them on the staff that can’t actually afford the time off.
Liz Truss? Who’s have thought it?
